Job description

Under the authority of the Project Manager, the Superintendent is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all activities related to the smooth operation of the project under their responsibility.

Main tasks

  • Respect safety standards at all times;
  • Resolve issues inherent to operations and recommend measures to improve safety, quality, equipment, and productivity;
  • Coordinate and plan, in collaboration with the Human Resources department, the hiring and training of workers;
  • Ensure that equipment maintenance and various inspection reports are properly completed and followed up in the existing records;
  • Implement risk management and control measures related to operations;
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and all service departments;
  • Ensure that corrective actions required from client visit reports, CNESST, the health and safety department, or management are carried out;
  • Maintain good working relationships with client representatives and provide regular follow-ups;
  • Any other related tasks.

Requirements

  • Underground hard rock common core in Ontario;
  • Hold a valid explosive license;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Hold a high school diploma or other equivalent degree;
  • Fluent in English is required.
