Job description

As an integral part of the mining operations team, the construction miner is responsible for performing construction work (formwork, shotcrete, steel structures, timbering, etc.) in accordance with plans and specifications, in order to allow for the installation of various underground services and structures.

Main tasks

  • Respect safety standards at all times;
  • Handle construction materials using hoists, overhead cranes, winches, slings, etc.;
  • Inspect the workplace at the beginning of the shift;
  • Perform cutting and welding operations;
  • Carry out timbering work;
  • Anchor structures to the rock using drills and ground support materials;
  • Operate various mining equipment as required (scooptram, forklift tractor, telescopic boom lift, shotcrete equipment, etc.);
  • Complete the work card at the end of the shift;
  • Any other related tasks.

Requirements

  • Underground hard rock common core in Ontario;
  • Hold a valid explosive license;
  • Hold a high school diploma or other equivalent degree;
  • Fluent in English is required.
