Job description
Being part of the mining operations team, the jumbo operator is responsible for carrying out drilling activities.
Main tasks
- Respect safety standards at all times;
- Inspect the work environment at the beginning and end of the shift;
- Inspect the drill before starting the shift and record it on the work card;
- Use and complete his work card throughout the shift;
- Secure the work area using safety tape starting from the electrical connection;
- Clean and identify the bottom of the holes;
- Project the drilling pattern and validate previous work;
- Install alignment devices (laser poles);
- Mark the face according to plans and specifications and draw a reference line;
- Position the drill to drill the holes;
- At the end of the drilling, park the boom drill and record the parking location on the work card;
- Complete the daily report at the end of the shift;
- Any other related tasks.
Requirements
- Underground hard rock Common Core;
- Hold a valid explosive license;
- Have a minimum of 6 months of drilling experience;
- Fluent in English is required.
